first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Wednesday, August 22, 2018:Happening Today:Weather: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.State Rep Debate: The Democratic candidates — Erika Johnson, Mark Kratman, Mike McCoy, Judy O’Connell, and Dave Robertson — for the 19th Middlesex State Representative seat will debate at 7pm at WCTV Headquarters. The debate will air live on WCTV’s Government Channel (Comcast 22 and Verizon 38). The debate will also stream live on (click HERE) and through the WCTV App (available in Google Play Store and Apple App Store). The debate will be archived for on-demand viewing on WCTV’s website later this week, and will reair frequently on WCTV’s Government Channel. Katie Lannan of State House News will moderate the debate.In The Community: The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, from 10am to 2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.In The Community: The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. Tech Help Drop-In from 2pm to 3pm. [Learn more and register HERE.]At The Senior Center: The Senior Center is holding its annual Fun Day from 10am to 3pm. Come try your luck at horse racing, roulette, blackjack and L-R-C (left, right center). Blue Ribbon Barbeque will provide lunch for this great event. The cost is $7.00 per person. Games will begin at 10am with the first horse race taking place at 11am. The tickets for the games will be $5 for 25 tickets.
