Robeco seeks institutional financing for Dutch mortgages

first_imgAsset manager Robeco wants to attract institutional investors to finance residential mortgages in the Netherlands. An investment fund run by the €152bn asset manager has struck an agreement with Rabobank subsidiary Vista Hypotheken.Robeco and Rabobank said the asset manager’s Dutch Mortgages Fund (RDMF) would back the mortgages. The fund targets pension funds and insurers, both locally and abroad. The RDMF joins insurers – including Nationale Nederlanden, Aegon, ASR and Achmea – as well as specialist mortgage providers including DMFCO/Munt and Dynamic Credit, which issue residential mortgages financed with pension assets. According to Robeco, its fund was the first institutional product in this sector that was fully detached from the party issuing the mortgages. However, Rabobank was the owner of Robeco until 2013, when it sold most of its stake to Japanese company Orix. In 2016 it sold its remaining holdings.Rotterdam-based Robeco declined to provide details about how much it wanted to raise from investors, or whether any commitments had been made.A spokesman said it was “in advanced discussions” with both Dutch and foreign investors.Vista Hypotheken focuses on first-time buyers with the initial emphasis on mortgages with a higher loan-to-value ratio and a fixed interest period of at least 20 years.Rabobank and Robeco said that no other players had competed to fund Vista’s mortgages. In the past, Robeco itself issued residential mortgages under the label of Roparco. However, as the asset manager wanted to get rid of its banking license, Rabobank took over the portfolio in 2013, subsequently selling it to property finance company RNHB.last_img read more

On Feb. 11, the City Council passed aresolution for the cancelation of scheduled events for its 54th CharterAnniversary, based on the DOH advisory dated Feb. 7, which stated that with theongoing threat of Covid-19, the public is strongly urged to avoid attending, participating, and organizing events that draw a huge number of people. Kittiwake — Geocache of the Week

In this case, that special equipment is a Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, AKA, scuba gear. Some trackables and a geocoin on a watery visitThe cache can be found 40 feet below the water’s surface in the Cayman Islands. For most people that means getting SCUBA-certified and doing a dive (though, as the cache owner points out, some people choose to free-dive). As is common in geocaching, the logbook isn’t the only prize to be found at the cache site. Between the cache and the seabed, slowly becoming an artificial reef, is the cache’s namesake: the USS Kittiwake, Chanticleer Class Submarine Rescue Ship. Learn more about the Kittiwake on the geocache page. The CO is Hindl.com, who’s been a technical SCUBA instructor for a decade, regularly leads tourists on dives to the Kittiwake, and thought geocaching would make an extra special addition to an already exciting exploration for many people. But he’s been careful about his choice of underwater cache locations: “I would not allow myself to put any geocaches on the historical sites or pristine reefs, but I felt like it was ok at the artificial (man made) wrecks.” Which the Kittiwake is.Photo by dfxHindl.com spoke to us about SCUBA, pen-swallowing seas, decompression, and Buzz Aldrin.Photo by Ondrej HindlAre you a regular diver?I am a technical instructor teaching from Trimix to CCRs (closed circuit rebreathers) and my favorites are wrecks and caves. I have done many dives on this wreck, which is an amazing deco stop (series of mandatory decompression stops before being able to ascend any shallower) after a deep technical dive on the wall. My first dive here was in the summer of 2012.How often do you have to maintain the cache? What does that normally entail?Given the limited time most visitors have at this GC, there is not much maintenance needed. However the ocean seems to be eating pens, they need to be replaced more often than in other land based caches. It usually takes just a quick stop on a regular dive. It can be done free-diving too, but not everyone can free-dive that deep, for that long.“Fish In Mirror” by Ondrej HindlWhat has been your response to all of the great comments on your cache?I can not describe how happy it makes me that people like this cache and mark it as their favorite. Not only because of the geocache, but I also see behind each of these geocachers, comments or logs a diver, snorkeler, free-diver but mainly an sea/ocean lover and someone who wants to protect the creatures we still have left in the seas.center_img Difficulty: 4Terrain: 5 Continue to explore some of the most amazing geocaches around the world.Check out all of the Geocaches of the Week on the Geocaching blog. Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11) on few dives during my diving career and the best one was through the Kittiwake wreck. He spent most of the dive “walking” upside down through the wreck, later claiming it is the closest he can get to walking on the moon again. First LNG Bunkering Pontoon in North West Europe Developed

first_imgzoom Dutch supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) Titan LNG is developing a new solution for safe delivery of LNG to both sea-going and river barges in ports in the Amsterdam – Rotterdam – Antwerp region, Europe’s largest bunkering hub.Following research and development operations, the company has designed and developed the first LNG bunkering pontoon in North West Europe, the Titan LNG Flex-Fueler.The vessel, which boasts a double bottom, double hull with a length of 70 metres, will be fitted with up to four tanks, each with a capacity of 300 cubic metres (cbm). Two cranes will be used for flexible hose guidance, and the discharge capacity range is between 30 and 450cbm of LNG per hour.Scheduled to be officially launched in the first quarter of 2018, Titan LNG Flex-Fueler is capable of loading and unloading via ex-wharf, ex-truck and ex-vessel.The vessel is designed to have a fixed location to supply inland waterway vessels, but can also be navigated to larger sea-going vessels and safely supply LNG while they load or unload their cargo.“It is critical that LNG bunkering infrastructure is developed to facilitate the efficient, cost effective, and safe delivery of LNG to both large and small LNG-fuelled vessels. Currently, truck-to-ship delivery provides the most flexibility, and is the only means of receiving LNG bunkers in the ARA region. However, there is an increase in larger LNG-fuelled vessels coming into the market, which cannot bunker at land-based LNG stations, as the deviation costs are too high or is simply not an option due to draft restrictions,” Niels den Nijs, Commercial Director, Titan LNG, said. The shipping industry is seeing an increase in demand for LNG and bunkering infrastructure in line with MARPOL Annex VI regulations that stipulates the requirement to burn clean fuel (with a sulphur content of less than 0.1%) in Emission Control Areas (ECAs). The industry could also see the implementation of a global 0.5% sulphur limit in ECAs as early as 2020.last_img read more

Harrison Ford Urges US To Invest In Conservation Before It Becomes National

first_imgHarrison Ford has urged the US to invest in conservation in a new interview with the BBC’s Laura Trevelyan.Video: Harrison Ford: ‘Humans need nature’.In the interview, the actor – alongside Conservation International Chief Executive Officer Peter Seligmann – talks about how the lack of water and food in developing countries could become a national security issue for the US.“It puts such stress on some of the most fragile nations in the world,” he says. “We’re all interconnected. For example, a simple lack of fresh water can lead to population dislocation, which can lead to political radicalization, which can lead to great pressure on the states that receive refugees because of a migrating population.””It’s a lot cheaper to intervene before it becomes a national security issue,” Mr Ford said. “Every dollar that we spend on international conservation comes back to us.”When asked why it is so important to him so personally, Ford replied “I’m human, I have children, I’m interested in their futures. I’m interested in nature in many many ways. And I’m also interested in the moral responsibility of human beings – to each other, to themselves, to the future.”To watch the entire interview, click here.last_img read more
